I'd like to find info on a D7E I just purchased. The serial number is 47A 5421-E. I'd like to find an operating manual and a belly pan.
Thanks,
Jim in Oregon

Try Eric Kronig in Amity Ore 1-800-799-2011 His dad had lots of IH parts but Eric has kinda went to Cat. I ran a D-7E in the woods for about 10 years and they are about the best all-around crawler made in my opinion

Hector, thanks for the e-mail. I'm really looking for a belly pan and tracks. My Cat has street pads, and I need tracks with 60-70% left on them.
Thanks again.
Jim

Hope you have better luck with yours than I had with mine,It worked real good for 25 hrs and then the motor had real bad damage due to 2 of the push rods dissappearing and doing damage to the cam shaft.Real spendy to fix but decided to go ahead and fix.Cant wait to use it next season.Dave A

The 2 front sleves that the push rods set in are bolted to the block via. a fork that holds the 2 sleves to the block. The fork pulled out when 1 of the bolts stripped itself out and push rods dropped down into the cam.The two sleves had been wearing in the block for some time and the block needed to be bored out to repair.Engine had to come out, cost me $1000.00 to have a cat dealer come out and take the head off to see the problem. They did not want to touch that old a machine, luckily I found an ex cat machanic near me that knew how to do the work needed so that helped. The only thing is I spent $16000.00. on the machine and now its going to cost me another $10,000. to fix.Dealer I bought it from dosent want to help seeing it was not anything he knew about,Wish he would be willing to help some but guess I will have to bear this alone!Good luck on yours,Dave A

Jim I may be corrected by someone access to parts books and manual. I think by s/n it is most likely 180hp Direct Drive if so you will find it to be a real work horse and a good all purpose tractor. If I sound biased its because I am. I operated a 47A 51XX which was a 180hp machine from '66 to '79 and have no complaints about same, as it would do what I asked of it.
