JCB Overheating Brakes

In my 1984 JCB backhoe with a 4/98NT Leyland engine as of late it have been overheating. I thought that the problem might have been the thermostat sticking but when I removed the housing it had already been removed. I think the pump might be still working because when I start it shortly after the water comes out the filling cover on top. What else should I look for from here? Also when going through the manual it says in the lubricants chart not to use regular brake fluid! To use {Mobil DTE11} or {JCB Special Hydraulic Fluid}above -20 deg C. Is this really necessary? What damage would regular brake fluid do?
Thanks for any help you guys can give me.

You are not having the best of luck with your JCB,you sure that the rad is clean inside as well as out,it was a bad sign for the thermostat to be removed,it was giving trouble before,if the rad is clean slacken off the fan belt so that the water pump will remain stopped, top up the rad,run the engine on idle and see if air bubbles come up through the water if so the head gasket could be leaking compression into the water causing the heating,if so its a head off job.the brakes on all backhoes and site equipment I come across are all using transmission oil,the reason that all them machines have inboard brakes that operate in oil so I suppose they want the same oil both sides of the seals, people still put in fluid by mistake,I don't know of any problem.
