loose bolt in transmission case knocked hole through bottom front causing massive oil leak however trans appears to work ok.(9/16 bolt)No recent work done on tran. I found bolt inside trans near the hole. I suspect bolt wedged under the lowest gear and knocked hole in housing.Should I weld up hole and not worry where bolt came from?

I think you better pull the trans and take it apart Mike. There is never just one loose bolt, something is coming apart. Maybe you caught it before total destruction happened. Get that resolved then weld the case.
Later Bob
