I am considering the purchase of a 1933 Allis M crawler and I'm told the tracks won't move for sitting for some years.
the person I'd buy this from say's it's probably the brake bands being rusted to the drums.
Since this is such an old crawler I'm concerned that it may be more than just rusted brakes.
I'm no crawler expert but from the photo's I've seen the UC looks in decent shape. The tractor looks to be in overall decent shape.
Any Ideas of what I'm in for? Or should I stay away from it? I'm thinking of this as a restoration project not a daily user, just a big toy.
John

You should also ask this question on some of the Allis Chalmers sites as there may be some more very knowledgeable people out there that do not know about this site.
