I have a T-340 (65-66), the serial # on the plate is rubbed off. I have read that this number
is located on the upper left rear of the transaxle cover. I have been unable to find the
number and I may not be looking in the proper area. Perhaps someone with more knowledge can
provide a specific location or a pic of the area.
Also have a casting code of 4 23 K, I assume this to be Apr 23 65.... Many THANKS in advance...

I just acquired a TD-340A, and the serial number plate is wiped clean, but the stamped in serial number and model number are still there, but difficult to read. Have you cleaned the plate up and used a real good light?? Also, you can try the trick of taking a rubbing off the serial plate. Take a thin sheet of paper, tape to the area and rub with a lead pencil. That serial number plate is kinda hard to get to though! Where in VA are you? I am in Eastern Tennessee, near Kingport.

Thanks for the reply, I am in central VA close to Richmond. The ser# was 8100. The ole girl has
a 4-in-1 bucket and runs fairly well.

The serial number makes your T-340 built in 1964. My TD-340A is serial number 9186. It has the 6 way bullgrader blade. Runs good, steers decent, but as with all these old machines, there are some problems. The sprocket drives had very little oil in them and when I went to clean things up, found that the sproket shaft seals are shot. I hope the bearings are OK. Don't plan to do anything to the seals for a while. If you have not found the T-340 website yet, you may want to take a look. I sent the guy a picture of my TD-340A a while back, but it has not appeared on there as yet. Also, everytime I go to that site, I get a bunch of junk from other sites which I hate!!
