Case 350 Left Brake Stuck

I have a Case 350 Dozer that I just had serviced. Everything was working great on the machine and then today after about an hour working, the left brake stuck. The lever you pull on has no tension on it and just sits there. It looks like the lever is connected to a link that is hooked to a lever of some sort that engages the brakes. This lever is stuck in the forward position. Could this mean I am going to have to rebuild the brake or could there be a spring or something off that is keeping it from releasing. It was down to the teens last night and might have frozen something. However, It started and worked great for an hour. Any suggestions.....?

First of all i have New brake bands for these machines. Like stated before use ONLY GL-1 Oil in the tranny/diff any thing else will screw up the brake eventually. Second You should not have to pull hard these, they are planetary drives and do not turn sharp no matter how hard you pull. next everybody keeps adjusting the outside adjustment and never does the inside so they do not get full use of the brake band and they wear out the two ends of the lining while the center gets no wear. At least once a year you should drain diff and service it and the brakes twice or more if used alot.email me for link to my site.

A friend of mine said he used to regularly break the bands in his 350....got to be an expert in doing changeovers. The 350s had diff steer,& were often a pain to steer...guys used to pull too hard on the lever to get it turning.I think there have been past discussions here, about using proper oil & keeping things adjusted properly.I'm sure there are more knowledgable guys out there...

I had a 310G back in the late 60'earily 70's bought it new and made the mistake of putting stright 90 weight in the rear and screwed up the brake bands it took 90w mineral had to change the bands and wash out all the 90 w and clean the drums so you do have to use the correct lube in them and it is not a big job to change the bands just remove the back plate and there they are . I would say that he broke a band and no they do not piviot turn .
