I need a 6-way blade dozer. I've never owned a small dozer. Have 3 choices: Cat D4CIII or Deere 450G TC or Komatsu D31P . All '94 models. Anybody have any experience with these? Would appreciate advice. thanks

I've found parts and service for Komatsu. Closest 90 miles. I was told to check ser# to see if "gray mkt" machine. Does anybody know what problems associated with this? One dealer said parts more $ , non-repairable, and harder to get.

Would appreciate advice. Thanks again guys

thejdman01, Appreciate your input

Cat and Deere parts are relatively close by. I'm checking for Komatsu parts next week. I'm assuming the Komatsu is just as "repairable" as the others as long as parts are available. I've had Deere and CAT's larger machines, but have no knowledge of Komatsu's reliability or history. Komatsu seller says they are a great machines. He says this Komatsu has wet clutches and the CAT and Deere are probably dry. If anybody could verify that, I would greatly appreciate it.

thanks

I'm sure all of them have wet steering clutches, dont be afraid of the Komatsu they are great machines, its a toss-up between Cat and Komatsu for reliability and the Cat winning in my mind only because of resale value.

Hey JCSinGA, I would certainly prefer a wet clutch machine. I'm feeling more comfortable with the Komatsu due to info from this forum. I'm looking into parts availability and service in my area today. Your help is appreciated.

Local dealer is the one you should buy. Having a GOOD, KNOWLEDGABLE, HELPFUL dealer near by is what should determine it. All mentioned are good machines. My order of picking would be the Deere, Komatsu, then Cat. If the Komatsu is 10,000 cheaper and still in that good of shap the Komatsu would be at the very top of my list. Komatsu is a good machien if you have a good dealer for parts nearby

All three being equal (price, undercarriage, hours) I would choose the Cat. Always solid machines and best resale value.

Thanks JCSinGA. Hours and U/C are similar on all. Komatsu is 10K less than Deere or Cat. All machines are in excellent overall condition. Thanks again for your input.
