I see you are in need of sponsors for funds. Has anyone contacted Caterpiller Company to see if they would help. I think it would make a great ad for them if you can get that thing to run after bringing it up after all those years.

Mike, I believe these are all International Harvestor machines, the cat trains don't neccessarily mean Caterpillar tractors. Not being argumentative ,just making a statement,I love that site

thansk guys, yes we are looking for help on this project and we hope to get some. not sure about the big dealers, money is tight in canada right now with the high price of fuel and such.

it is true that the cats are anything that has tracks, it is a canadian term.

I was curious how do they get the cable hooked on a Cat down in 90 feet of freezing water ??? Also strange how they can lift them with just 2 poles off of the ice it just fell through ?? I would think it would just keep breaking away.

Hello i was looking through your forum and i think its awsome! any way you would have to send down scuba divers to secure the riggin. Also it would be a good idea to use lift bags to help with the lift .i do this for side work and it works!

hello mark, we don't want to send a diver do because of the expense and the insurance. after sept 11 it is very hard to get insurance for anything in the great white north. so if we just hook a cable using a camera it will be safer.
