Hi folks. I am looking for a source to buy steel bushings for loader arms. The machine is no longer supported by its manufacture. So a dealer isn"t really an option. From what is left of the bushing it seems to measure 1.250 ID 1.625 OD an 3.0 L . But that is a rough measure and I could easily modify OD. Thanks in advance for any help. Chuck

Know you want hardened steel. Would it be possible to use bronze bushigs which are readily available. That's what's used on my dozer. just keep them greased. Know they won't last as long but help you to you find or able to make others

John is right Connex bushings are the way to go. We often do jobs for Norfolk Southern railroad on their track repair equipment where they need holes bored oversized to install them. Once you take a worn hole and repair it with one of these bushings your wear problems are pretty much over, especially if you keep things grease. You should be able to get the size your needing straight from Connex without going through Mcmaster-Carr though. Pretty much everything Connex makes is basically custom made to order since they don't really keep anything in stock per-se. When you go through places like M-C your simply getting bushings they have ordered, in quantity, in common sizes, and then stock in their own warehouse for resale. Here's a link to the Connex site.

Wayne,

Yup, the connex product is pretty slick alright. I went thru Mcmaster as there is a $100 min per part number from connex and I didn't want to buy up a bushel basket of bushings!

Hi,

Just re-bushed my loader arms at the bucket. Used split hardened spring steel bushings from Connex. Bought them from Mcmaster-carr. I think it is mcmaster.com. They were pretty cheap and easy to put in. You have to do a search for "spring bushings" to find them.

They have so much stuff it is hard to find everything sometimes!

Chuck,

I just checked the online catalog (page 1000), the bushings for 1 1/4 ID are only up to 1 1/2 OD, so it looks like they won't work for your application.

Hi Chuck,
I have bought hardened tube from Speedy Metals and have loved the service.
They stock all sizes and I bet they can come up with the tube you need.
I have their Email, SpeedyMtls@aol.com.
