Anybody know anything about the IH/Dresser 100E crawler loader?

I might go look at a 1979 model in good shape.

Thanks in advance.

Mostly wondering if there are any problems peculiar to that model that I should watch out for.

Also, how do you get parts for something this old?

Thanks.

Well my machine runs good, so I haven't really checked into engine or tranny parts. the down fall of my machine is the undercarriage is severly worn. I had one upper roller that was wore out, so I rebuilt it. Recentered the middle tacked it around the edges and proceeded to build it up by welding passes across it and then griding down. When I get a chance I'm going to rebuild the hyd. tensioners, they are shot and the previous owner welded a series of nuts and 1-1/2 threaded rod to keep tension on the tracks. While doing that I'm going to take the sprockets off and build them up by welding as well. If you have the money, you can contact a Komotsu dealer or an aftermarket undercarriage dealer like BERCO and order undercarriage parts. I am going to use my chains on the track till there is nothing left and then install new set of rollers, track, and sprockets. As little as I use my machine, I may never see that day. I always have my eye open for a parts machine/ and I'm looking for a backhoe attachemt with the quick disconnect...cheap though...has to be cheap.
