I have a 850 deere crawler with the 619 engine, the 1st oil change had slivers of rod or main bearing in oil. oil pressure is still in the normal range, engine has no knocks and runs very well. Help, can i replace main's and rod bearings, or could this be the thrust washer coming apart or could this be residue from a prevous overhaul. I recently purchased this machine, used for a couple of hours and did not know the history of maintenance. The engine had not been worked on for several thousand hours, (determined by the amount of residue in belly pan and oil, dirt, and deposits in engine compartment.

I don't know whay you couldn't. That is the same engine used in the 4WD tractors, and they do it all the time in them. One way or the other, you better get the pan off and check before something big and bad happens.
