Does anyone have any reference on what the rated drawbar pull of this tractor would be?

Thanks

CAT doesn't have anything listed in their Performance Handbook for the drawbar pull on any of the Power shift equipped models. Typically if a customer was buying a machine to do alot of pulling the direct drive transmission was the better choice while the PS was good for pushing material where you were going backwards and forwards alot. That said the pulls are listed for the direct drive machines. The closest machines listed to yours are all D5's. Their prefixes are 98J, 93J, 94J, and . All were built during the same time frame as your machine, have the same HP, and are 500 to 1200 lbs lighter than yours. The rated pulls on all of them are--1st gear, 19,340lbs @ 1.7MPH--- 2nd, 12,130 @ 2.6---3rd, 8,270@ 3.6 --4th, 5,610 @ 5--- 5th, 3,660 @ 6.9----- These are most likely gonna be different from yours, but they should at least be in the ball park.

NC Wayne,

Thanks for the help. I'm not planning on using mine in heavy duty pulling applications, I was mostly just curious as to how much force the machine could exert. I'd say mine with the powershift would probably exert at least 20,000 lb push force (on the right terrain, for a short period of time) in first gear since the limiting factor is traction, does that sound reasonable? Probably the only pulling app I'll have is a sheepsfoot roller for pond compaction and I'm wondering what size roller(s)I could handle. Any advice on that? Thanks again.
