Noticed this old machine sitting out in a field across from my brother's farm. Can anyone tell what it look's like--AC or IHC or something else? Any idea what it might be worth as far as offering the owner something? My brother tells me it hasn't been used in years but he thinks it was running and had some clutch issues.

That machine looks like either a Allis HD-7 or HD-10. The 7 has 3 cyl Detroit and the 10 has a 4. That should help narrow the field. A machine like that not running I would expect to pay 500 - 1000 depending on condition (engine siezed or any obvious damage 500 or less). The weight you could expect would be 9-10 tons HD-7 and 12-14 tons HD-10. Any other info on those models feel free to ask. Chuck

Offer him 5 to 10 cents a pound. That way you can at least break even selling it for scrap.

It looks like a Cletrac D model with Carco F winch and Heil dozer. Late 40's or early 50's. Could be gas or diesel.
