I recently purchased an early model OMC skid loader. The numbers at the right rear of the loader are: 8540 and 1200

I desperately need a drive belt for this loader but have not been able to find a parts source. Any assistance will b3e greatly appreciated. Also, what does OMC stand for? Thanks again.

Owatonna Mfg. Company, Owatonna, MN. No longer in business. Some JD skidloaders were the same- try a JD dealer for belts. Case 1530 used the same style variable speed drive.

Thanks so much for the help. There was no belt with the machine when I got it. Do you know the size of belt I am needing? Thanks again...

I had the 1530, and I think a certain OMC (1700?)and JD (90?) were the same, used the same belt, gearbox (SD mfgr), hydraulic pump, etc. Company in Willoughby, OH has good prices on belts, ships nationwide, can't remember the exact company name, you might find it in Fastline mag or others. Check with your JD dealer for belts/cross reference mfgr. I know some think JD is overpriced, won't take the time, etc. I farm less now, but still dump almost 3 grand with local one each year- they often do wild goose chases for me for parts and sell me nothing- they always treat me right. Other sales make up for their time, but we have a good parts dept here. (I didn't say the dealer- just the parts dept- manager MAKES the big difference).
