Hi. The BTD-6 was built at IH's Doncaster factory in Yorkshire, England. I am unsure of production dates at the moment but I do have a little info somewhere, I'll look it over for you.
They were initially developed off the IH TD-6 petrol/diesel crawler, many of which were sent to the UK during WW2 as Lease-lend machines.
The BTD-6 came in 2 main flavours, 4 roller (principally agricultural) & 5 roller (industrial, although 5 roller was a popular option for agriculture in later production).
The engine was also used in the BWD/Super BWD-6 (BMD-6 also?), Farmall B-450, B-614 & B-634 and was particularly noted for it's tractability and low end grunt. It continued in wheeled tractors until the introduction of the german designed 74 series in about 1974.
Interestingly enough, these engines are also widely held to be the inspiration for the 4-cylinder water cooled Belarus engine, again possibly the result of wartime lease/lend. Hope this is of some use, JV.

Sounds like a 1965 model. They went from 1953 to about 1975. Had the direct start BD264 British 4 cyl diesel of 264ci & 50hp.
Hope this helps.
