I have a 1989 diesel International backhoe/loader, Model 3514, and have had no success in obtaining a wiring diagram for this unit. Main concern is wiring the alternator (internal regulator) and the wiring for the switch to starter. Can anyone help?

I could find no name on the alternator. There are three wires, one for "BAT" and two that plug into the alternator where it is marked "R (#1) and "F" (#2). The only marking on the alternator is the numeral "13" which I assume is only a housing casting number.

The switch is only two terminals (this is the "on/off" switch and this leads to a push-button switch with two terminals. This switch is the actual starter switch which I assume would go to the starter. Neither of these switches have numbers.

I believe the alternator was changed out from the original since there is an outside regulator box with four terminals mounted on the dash. All of the wiring has been disconnected from this box. (Probably because the new alternator has an internal regulator(?)).

Paul on the left in research & info check the articles section in there under updating charging section theres a good point to start.
if the two spade terminals on alternator are on the top/outer and not the back i would say your correct and it is internaly regulated and prob a 10 si delco, the main bat + is on the back @ about 10 oclock from the spades. without jumpin to much there might be a neutral start/saftey switch, guages, maybe some lights you want wired if i'm off base let me know and we can wire it for test purposes. i'm still thinking about checkin a 3141 i belive this weekend not sure if the fella is going to be around though
