Blade angle

Looking at a small dozer and somebody modified the blade so that it tip forward (top away from radiator) more than normal. Any real reason for this. What is the advantage if any for push or back drag, Thanks for the help.

Mr. Bill is right. Tilting the blade back will cause the blade to cut in more when pushing ( as long as the bottom of the cutting edge is below the back curve of the blade) but will give you a smoother finish when back dragging. Tliting the blade forward will have the oppisite effect. The position will depend on the work you're doing and the material. I like to run the blade with the top slighty forward, it seems to be a good position for general work.

I don"t know, but seems to me it would make it more of a scraper and would not have a tendancy to dig in.
Just my opinion.
