HELP I have removed the belly pan, then all the bolts in the oil pan, pan still will not come off. (4 verticle long bolts at back of pan, 5 large bolts into the bell housing, and many small bolts thru pan into bottom of block). HELP what am i missing, are their guide studs that are holding the pan. I have inserted a pry bar between pan and block ( I don't think it is the gasket, it is too tight). The starter is close to the side of the pan, but I don't think it is touching the pan, everything seems to clear the pan.

Well, I forgot to look at that pan for a few days, but I remembered today. There's six bolts going through the pan and into the clutch housing on that 8650. I imagine you've probably got this figured out by now though.

I've never worked on a 619 in a crawler, but I've worked on them in ag tractors, and I think there's six bolts going through the pan and into the bellhousing. I've got an 8650 in the shop right now- I'll have a look tomorrow. I've never seen guide studs on these oil pans- if all the bolts are out, I can't think of any reason it wouldn't come down. Maybe hit it in several places around the gasket flange with a big hammer?

I haven't been able to work on the crawler in the last year. I have the pan bolts all out, the pan is down about four inches, it needs to slide forward to clear the cross member below the back of the pan. I can see the oil sump tube is what is not allowing the pan to come forward. If I jack up the front of the dozer will this give enough clearance for the pan to come forward ( the pivot point from crawler to undercarriage seems to be further back and may gain some clearance) or do I have to reach to the back of the oil pan and try to remove the sump tube bolts. I can probably remove the tube this way, but putting the tube back on with the oil pan clearance about 4 inches will be almost impossible. do you or anyone have experience with removing the pan.

Thanks Ron B.
