Hi everyone,

I usually hang out on the MF board, but I need some advice...I've got a 350 dozer that last ran in 1994 - it had NO mechanical issues at the time. It is a diesel and the batteries are gone and its sat outside the whole time. I'd like to try and get it to run - short of spending thousands of dollars - what simple things other than new fuel and diesel should I start with?

I'm used to the foibles of my Massey 135...so this would be a learning experience for me. I appreciate any help you can give me.

Christos

Drain the tank and put new filters in it. Prime the filters so they are full of fuel. When someone is cranking it over crack open line to each injecter until you get fuel then close. use line wrench so you don"t round off fitting. you should now get it running

I'd go ahead and pull the injectors out so's to squirt some oil in each cylinder. Let it set a few days and change oil. Re-install injectors and try it.You'll probably need to bleed fuel line anyway,so you may want to try to flush the lines out with fuel before connecting the fuel lines back to injectors.Be sure to turn motor over to expel oil out of the cylinders before installing injectors.
