Anybody here ever replace final drives on the Case 310 crawlers? (stuck in the woods and raining) I can't get it off with the track-support plate blocking it... loosen that a little for clearance? Suggestions...??

is the housing broken? if not why remove the whole final drive? why not just remove the outer housing and replace damaged parts?

The housing doesn't look bad on the outside, but once I took off the track & sprocket, the drive shaft fell out. For quite a while it had no bearings at the outer race/drive sprocket, so I'm pretty sure that inner race area of the inner housing is chewed-up and/or cracked. May be saveable later, but I have a complete drive to bolt on...
