I would appreciate any help we can get at all with this. Here's the details and alittle history (cant help myself):

The dozer is a (as stated on the tag) D85-12, ser #206(?) 85. I think it is a late 60's to mid 70's machine but I don't know for sure.

We picked up this Komatsu 2 yrs ago(?) and it had a "knock" in one of the cyls. The previous owner rebuilt the rear cyls and turbo and it still had this knock. The dozer ran, but just had one of those "what is it??" noises. So we finally tore it appart expecting a wristpin, rod or even some valve issues somewhere. Low-and-behold it ends up being (luckily) a frozen injector (YAY!!!).

Well we finally found an rebuilt (I think, maybe refurb??) injector way up in Canada (thanx!) and are now working on getting this thing back together. What we need some help with is the torque specs for everything from the heads up (we pulled them all to check the pistons and locate the issue, took us a few days because everything looked great lol).

I called the place we got the injector from and AIS and no go. AIS hasnt gotten back with us yet, they might still but the crawler place we got the injector from hasnt a clue or doesnt want to help us out.

Anyways, I just thought of this forum so what the heck, maybe someone can help us out. We are even interested in any manuals for this hog if someone has a set they would part with for a reasonable price.

Well if anyone could be of some help or point us in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated. Please feel free to either post it here, email, fax or even call me.

Thanx
Jason

I think thats mid 70s, that machine would have a Cummins engine in it,I am not sure now if it was an NH220 or 250,look for a plate on the engine and copy the details and give a Cummins dealer a call for the specs or a book for the engine, you should find the plate on the timing housing under the alternator, there is a pulley there with a lot of marks on it to set the valves and torque the injectors which needs a special torque wrench.

Thanx AJ.

I also learned that it was a cummins NH220 from Mark Ovesen (I think thats how its spelled) from KY about 20 mins after I posted this. He also hooked me up with almost all the specs I needed right over the phone and a manual for the dozer itself.

Thanx alot for the info from both you guys and I will look up that tag and see what we can find out from the Cummins dealer for a manual or anything else we might need.

I cant tell you guys how much help you've been.

Thanx
Jason
