I have an 84 Cat D3b that has peddle steer and seems that the clutches may not be dis engaging properly. I'm not sure because I've never had peddle steer before. It seems like the brake comes on at the same time as the clutch. I looked at the linkage and both move together. Can anyone tell me how to properly adjust the brakes so that I can be sure the clutch engages first. Thanks, Tony

yes the linkages will move together but you have to release clutches an instant before brake band takes over brake band adj. are under a small cap one on either side under the seat there hard to find if you dont know what to look for two 3/8's bolts (9/16 hex size) hold them on then after you get them off the band adj. will be a 9/16 wrench or socket.as far as clutch adj... you need a book lol

Tony you need to buy a service book first. Peddle steers have a double adjustment so to speak. By pushing the pedal down say half way that releases the the clutches & by pushing all the way that will hold the clutches disenaged plus apply the brake to complete the turn. HT
