Most parts are interchangable, but be aware that the engine internals are not the same. Early D4 crankshafts have different journal sizes than the later units. This adds a little to the price.

That's a 1951 model. The 7U was made from 1947 thru 1959 if that helps any.

I have a D4 That I think the SN # 5B3758 but not sure I'm looking at the right numbe, my D4 was in a fire last year that burnt wires to the poney engine plus gauges so I need some parts. This number was on the trans behind the stick shift. Is this where the sn# is? If this is do you know what year this is?

Thanks
