My machine has a 4cyl perkins engine. The problem is under a heavy load the engine tries to die.It will not spin the tracks you have to ease does it to turn, If i use it easy it will dig well but slow. I have been told if the pressure regulator has been meesed with it could be building to much pressure and pull the engine down. What should i be looking for? Do you know where a manual can be purchased?

Jeff before getting into the hydraulics make sure that the engine is running right with clean fuel and air filters and no air in the fuel system,I am well rusty on machines that old but I did work on the 5Cs,if yours has a fixed flow twin pump the trouble might be in a devider valve under the seat, there is a small valve block there with some pipes attached, one of the pipe adapters screw into the valve block a lot further than the others, its got an o'ring on the inner end,if that o'ring fails it lets the two flows of oil get together and that will try to kill the engine,to check the o'ring you may have to take all the pipes off because I can't tell you which one its under as its 25 years plus since I even seen a 5C,I remember taking the seat out and I think it screwed in from the side.the main regulator valve is in the main block and usually goes weak rather than strong.
