I bought a 2-53 Detroit from a guy here in Washington. Nice shape These were I believe all gen sets. They are the correct rotation for me. Maybe they are for you as well. So I thought Id share this info if someone is interested.

He has a few more for sale I think. One complete 2-53 and generator Two 2-71 Some continentals And an 8-71. Mine was in very good shape. I paid three hundred, with starter and alternator. Don’t know or haven’t seen the rest, I was only interested in the one 2-53. So I thought Id share this info if someone is interested OPPS May be I should have posted it on a different forum. move it, if you what to.

Feel free to call him (Steve)@ 253-846-1115

thanks
scott

The 2-53 engine powered the JD 440ICD tractor with it's hairy 32HP! We recently bought one that had sat for at least 10 years, and after an hour of fiddling it started right up. PS: the numbers of these engines is 2 (no. of cylinders) 53 (the cubic inch displacement of each cyl) The 6-71 is a 6 cyl and 71 CID per cyl.
