I have a straight JD 450 laoder, no letter, it ha small haydraulic sylinders that are supposed to help/assist with the steering clutches. Mine don't seem to be working. When I crack one of the lines there is no hydraulic fluid/pressure.

does this run off of the main haydraulic pump or ?

any help is appreciated

thanks

There is a reservoir under the hood that holds oil for the steering booster pump, you have to lift the hood up to see/get to it. Think JD says use hydraulic oil in it but I always use motor oil because the pump is driven off the gear train of the engine and quite often the seal around the shaft goes out and dumps whatever is in the reservoir into the engine oil pan.

JCS

I got the hood off saturday, you were right!

Filled the resevoir, the pump still works and the pressure line had a hole rubbed in it. took quite a while to get to it, removed the alternator, bracket, return line, and then finally the pressure line

I had one made up today and hope to put it back in on saturday
