does anyone know where i can get an engine for a 400c the loader is in good shape but the engine is blown. i believe its a 354 perkins but i think that it has to be out of a loader. we tried one that came out of a combine but there were too many problems.

i appreciate any and all comments. i will get the serial number i just wanted to see what information i got without it. i was told that the crankshaft looked to small and the water pump was in the wrong place. the crank worried me more than the water pump.

Somewhere I have a bulletin for 354 cranks. There are probably 10-12 different ones. There are also low and high mount water pumps.

perkins has used at least 3 different serial number setups for the 354 engine. There are also different versions of this popular engine. How about posting an engine serial number to start with. That will help identify what you have and what it may cross over to.

most of the time when swaping a engine from a combine you have to change oil pan rear engine housing and some time the front cover to get a engine to mount up. also there are time whin manifold and exaust have to be changed. just swap the parts from old engine to replacement engine. i alway get the engine in before returning the old engine to salvage yard as there is in most case a core charge.
