ATC crawler indentification?

I just picked up an ATC crawler that has Terratrac cast on both final drive housings. It has 5 rollers, 4 cyl gas flathead, honeycomb/lattice style drive sprockets. Grill has vertical center rib with horizontal slots on either side for air flow. Grill has "ATC" emblem at top center. From the pictures on this site, it looks to have a GT-30 grill with GT-28 drive sprockets. Where would any indentifying numbers be located on these tiny crawlers?? Would this be a 6 or 12 volt system? It looks like it was painted with a hand brush some time ago so any decals have been covered up. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

Scott

George sent you in the right direction. I doubt you have a GT 28 they are very rare.More like and GT 30 early model with the clark spockets. Just remember before you have any big bulldozer ideas these undercarriges are throw aways and weak at best, but nice little toy and good for light work. If you need manuals or parts email me and i will send you my link.

Scott,

Serial # tag is rivoted on the seat frame, if that is missing the ser # is stamped in the frame by the starter. Ser # will tell you what it is and with the chart in the caseterratrac group on yahoo you can tell what year it is . You will have to join , no big deal just answer a few questions .

George, I found the two little screws that "used" to hold the data plate on the seat lower right rear corner. As far as the frame numbers stamped by the starter, I looked everywhere and couldn't find anything. Was there a year they started stamping a number on the frame? On the final drive it says "ATC 06 33" and "TERRATRAC", and on a plate a the base of the steering levers it says "ATC 05 121". I realize these are casting numbers, but could they indicate model? The distributor comes out through the center of the head on top. Is this a Continental engine? Would any numbers be stamped on the transmission? Any info would help. Thanks.

George, Thanks for the info. I'll look for it tonight when I get back. As I said, the hand painting is pretty thick (which was a good thing overall) but hopefully a little wire brushing should reveal some numbers. I didn't recall seeing any tags on the seat frame when I did my initial walk around. Could have been covered in paint. It looks like it'll be a fun little project for me and the boys. I'll try to get some before pictures posted. Would you happen to know what the factory color paint would be for these crawlers? There's some yellow underneath, but everthing else is green. Thanks again for the info.
