Trying to rebuild a bucket cylinder off a JD 440 crawler with an 831 loader. The loader manual indicates to remove the cylinder spanner nut (which I have done) and then push the cylinder head in to provide clearance to remove the snap ring. The cylinder head will not budge. Any tricks here that I am missing? Cylinder was working fine just had a large leak so likely just need some new o-rings.

Stand it on end in a press, with the shaft between the arbor plates, and the head on the arbor plates. Just did one like this off of a 2010, worked fine.

Tried to press the cylinder head in using a hydraulic press. No luck. I attached a URL for a picture of the cylinder. Does the outside ring/collar need to be removed to get this cylinder apart? Treaded area in the picture is where the spanner nut was removed from the cylinder head.
