On dismanteling the 955 engine the lower third of one piston and cylinder and sleeve have 5 1/2 inch wide scuffs parallel to the bore and the rod bearing was a little looser than the other 3 but this cylinder apparently was firing OK.What does this mean?We are replacing cylinders and sleeves because of blow by.

Never thought about the overheating idea since only one(rear) was involved but there was a lot of amorphous debris behind the sleeve when we pulled it.We were thinking there might be a bent crank or rod?

Could also be a leaking injector, with fuel washing away the oil in that cylinder!

Sounds like she started to over heat and was shut down before it did to much damage.
