Does this take the same brakes as a 340 wheel tractor? How hard is it to replace the brakes?
Any short cuts? I'm new to this piece of equipment, But not to repairing tractors.Any help is GREATLY APPRECIATED,
John

The T-340 uses the same brake parts as the 340 and a number of other IH wheel tractors. Brake discs are easily found at your local CASE/IH dealer. Replacing them is a fair amount of work. The brake assemblies are "sandwiched" between the final drive and the transmission case, so the final drive unit must be removed to gain access. You'll have to break the track, remove the two 3/4" bolts connecting the final to the track frame, raise machine enough to get the final off the frame - only need a fraction of an inch clearance, and then remove the 5/8" bolts holding the final drive in place. Rig a sling under the case and thru the sprocker and it should slide off fairly easily. Good luck!
