Have 670 A JD grader tore down . The pinion gear thats drives the ring gear is fine ,but inside the pinion is the drive gear for pin and is bad. to get the pinion out I think I have to pull & break all final drives out from trannie housing to pull?

if you have to remove the ring gear, you have to remove the tandem assemblies which involve dropping the transmission assembly down as the tandem assemblies are doweled to the main frame. Your best bet may be to remove engine and transverse drive...then unbolt tandem drive assemblies from main frame...stabilize transmission front and rear ..jack rear frame and roll entire assembly out from under frame...then remove tandems, pivot saddle and final drives all in one piece...then remove the power shift components to get to the ring and pinion....its a BIG job...to say the least....
