Pulled out the manual and was trying to ajust the steering clutch so it didn't slip. I noticed that it looked like hydralic oil has leaked in on it. Would it be ok to spray brake degreaser down on the clutch to wash out the oil? Will the degreaser drain out some where?

Thanks,

Hey Joe, if you find you need parts contact Lavoy at 701-361-1006. We just bought a brake band for our 440 from him end of last year and he's a suoper nice guy. I haven't seen him post in a while but here's a link to the web site.

Joe, I had this happen to my 420c. It had a bad oil seal behind the final drive housing where the bearing quil bolts into the rearend housing. The only fix that will last is to pull the final drive and then the bearing quill and seal and replace the seal. You probably will have to put in new fiber clutch disks as the oiled ones can't be cleaned. The metal disks can be cleaned. Also on mine the brake band was ruined too. Good luck
