How do I unstick a 1010C diesel?

Hello, I am 14 years old and own a 1010C diesel John Deere crawler. The engine is a four cylinder diesel, and is currently stuck. My problem is that I cannot ustick this engine! I have hammered on the stuck piston(s), where the water got in, and no luck. Today I had a few ton bottle jack pushing up on the piston from under the engine, and the piston wouldn't budge; I am suprised the wet deck didn't push out. I was told by a Caterpillar collector that he had a diesel 35 once, that was stuck, and had aluminum pistons with steel or cast sleeves. Well, it is the same deal with my tractor. Infered from his explanation, I beleive that the two metals with different expansion rates can really cause trouble getting it unstuck. He ended up cutting the sleeve up, saving the piston rod, and finding a new sleeve and piston (which are not available new anymore.) Would anyone happen to know where there is a loose parts 1010C diesel engine? I just want the wet deck and the four pistons and rods, if possible. Does Deere still sell parts for these engines? Mine is a 1962, serial #29396. Can anyone help me? Thanks!

Oversize pistons are still available form Deere as far as I know. You will have to take the engine out, and have the deck sleeve bored to fit the new pistons. Otherwise, the deck is still available as well, I think around $400, but have not checked for a while.

First let me say that this engine does not have individual sleeves but a sleeve plate, and that seems to be one of the biggest problems with this engine. The sleeve plate was apparently a bigger problem for the diesels than the gas engines.
Are parts still availble, yes for the most part. Now have you tried putting anything into the cylinder to let it soak before trying to push the piston out? You might want to check some of the archives for advice on what to use.

Good luck and let us know how it turns out.

BTW I own a 1010c with the gas engine.
