I have a JD350B crawler with wide (33 inch) tracks and need a gear and housing (part #'s T33097 and T33373). So far, the best price I've found is $800 for the gear and $1110 for the drum (new JD parts).

Might anyone have these used or a better price on new ones? If I have to buy new, is this price reasonable?

Also, I thought my bulldozer was a plain 350 based on the serial # T4F3D109937T (~1970) but dealers tell me the above parts were only on 350B, C, & D.

Certainly, my crawler is not a C or D with dry steering clutches. Can anyone tell me if 350 or 350B and does it even matter (for example when I order the steering clutch discs which need replacing? Thanks.

Hi,
Just read your post about yur 350B wide track, I just bought a 1976 350BW Wide Track with the same tilted sprocket problem. It"s funny because my dozer is a wide track model but mine has 14" tracks on it and I believe it should have the 33" in tracks like yours. My axle shaft and sprocket is tilted up and was wondering what the fix was. I think I might need the same parts you need. If you found out any info It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,
Glen in PA

Thanks for reply regarding parts. I tried to email you through the spam-protecting function of this site but would not work. Can you get my email address from this site and contact me. Even better would be to give me a call at 205-399-1034 as I am anxious to finalize a parts order and get my dozer fixed (mechanic has it all taken down).

I don't remember all the parts updates from Deere, and it doesn't really matter. When the 350s first came out, Deere was retrofitting many 350 parts to fit 1010s - e.g. the transmission cases, steering clutch housings, etc. And, when the later 350s came out - e.g. the "Bs", Deere retrofitted parts from the "Bs" to the older first 350s, etc., &c. The complete final drives are interchangable for all the 350s with dry clutches. If you've got a "swamp buggy" with extra wide tracks, then are are a few special parts. It would be a cold day in H*ll when I'd pay $2000 for a couple of repair parts for a final drive, when a complete used final drive can be bought for somewhere around $500 - and they are easy to find. I know where there are plenty. In regard to the steering clutches, go by the housing number - not the machine itself. Also remember there are brass clutch disks available that will not set-up and get stuck anywhere near as easy as the fiber clutchs. They are not cheap, though. As I recall, Deere used them on the "B" series, but they work fine on any of the 350s. Fiber clutch disks are $15 each (T20790) and the bi-metallic brass-faced disks are $40 each (AT117553 or T44128). Many places sell the stuff aftermarket, e.g. Link
