Hi gang,

I am trying to locate information on some of the Canadian companies who were involved in the manufacture of crawlers and construction related equipment. I am interested in tracking down company names and locations, the dates companies were in operation, and the scope of their product lines (model #'s etc.).

I am particularly interested in the following (but everything is fair game!):
"Bullmoose" crawler (Vancouver?)
Laurentide Equipment Co. (Montreal) "Beetle" Doerr? Crawler?
Willco - Crawler?
Barber Engineering - Malo Loader Bulldozer attachment
Hoover Machine Co.-Dozer Loader attachment
Bates Electric Welding-Overhead Loader/Dozer attachment
If anyone can provide any info I would appreciate hearing from you. Thanks! Keep on saving that great old iron!

What would you like to know? My Grandfather invented the Malo Loader-Dozer...My father worked for Barber Machinery - the company that my grandfather sold the patent to the Malo Loader-Dozer to. I have some B/W pictures of the loader in action as well as some of theoriginal drawings etc.

Interesting subject, not sure of any connection but there might be at least a lead to something else or to a time before we know:)
I remembered a book on manual/animal/hydro/steam/combunstion powereded sawmills titled "sawpower" in the cahapter on hydro/waterwheel equipment.
Quote: the Barber Canada trubine wheel was in operation in Great Village in 1874. unquote
This was in Nova Scotia, the sawmill looking to buy the turbine was assured by Mr Barber that his 52 inch trubine was equal and better than any other wheel then being made in the "Dominion"
in a subsquent letter between the buyer/seller
hope it helps
