Is this the engine with the fuel in the coolant? or is it just over heating?

Don't push it too hard Ron, Make sure the pressure relief valve is good and get it rodded out soon if it still runs hot. What did you find with the other engine? The fuel adapter in the head only applies to the older small capsul nozzels not the long pencil nozzels. Check any fuel heater it may have first.

Bob, on the first 3406 (diesel in radiator)I couldn't find anything, I think he was seeing things! On the 623 we determined today the engine(temp) is not what the gauge says.We are working at 7500 ft, above sea level which water boils at about 180 degrees. So Monday we'll put on a new sending unit, thermostat and gauge. Thanks for you're help

AND ANTI FREEZE too Eh. It increases the boiling temp. Make sure the relief valve is good too that also increases the boiling point.

Well for what its worth, last time I had my KW in the shop, Cat powered, they used a cup of Cascade dishwasher detergent. Said it was good for rust and gentle clean. I would disolve it first, they didn't, seems to me that it would be better to be liquid so that it won't plug things up worse..
