Bobcat 371 Brake Question

I'm in the process of buying a Bobcat 371 and am wondering how good it will work on inclines as far as braking is concerned. I know the newer skidloaders use the hydrostatic pumps and motors to slow and stop the machine. How is it done on an older unit like the 371?

It's going to be primarily for barn cleaning, but may get some road maintenance duties as well, which would mean operating on some inclines.

Any pointers for using/maintaining a 371? I'm paying $500 and it seems to be in decent running/working condition. Thanks for the help.

371 is a good little skid loader. Be careful going up and incline, always back up the incline. IF you are mechanically inclined you will find your abilitys. Defintely keep the rops on it if it has one. Or build one. They can tip quite easily..as for as maintence pretty easy. But for $500. I think there is something wrong some where. Most I have seen sell at auction are from $1100. to $2000. Middle field about $1500. Have someone that know something about it to check it over. Get a good one..It all ends up the same money. Buy a lemon and pay to fix it up
$1500. or more. buy a good one $1500.
