My old HD7

I got an HD7W a few years ago, with the intent on using her to clear and level our property. We'll, she's just sitting there. Only the right side pulls, the left does nothing. If I disengage the right side, the left just sort of hitches and grabs. The crawler lurches forward a little bit like it got rearended. It will not turn the track. I was told the steering clutch on that side probably needs to be removed and rebuilt. Does that sound accurate? I'm hoping it's not the final drive, otherwise I bought the most expensive lawn ornament in the area.
Thanks!

Check if both left and right clutch levers have the same free play,if the left side pulls further back before resistance is felt then mayby the preasure plate is hung up due to the cat sitting so long. if that is the case then work the lever repeatedly, it might come loose that way

Several problems can cause that, but the most simple is the steering clutches. MY AC did it, and found out, after pulling it all apart, that the splines stripped on one axle that drives the clutches. So, I had to replace the splined shaft and the entire ring-gear carrier. I assume it's not a common problem, but this is the second AC I've had it happen too, and I've fixed a few Deeres also. If it worked okay when you parked it last, and now it doesn't, then it seems it must be the clutches. But, if you bought it that way, almost anything is possible.
