I have a 1976 JD 350BW wide track model. The machiene has the wide track parts although the tracks that are on it are 14".
The problem is the right side axle hub that connects to the final drive housing and goes to the sprocket tilts up pretty good. The left side also tilts up but is not as bad. Anybody have an idea on what the problem might be? What possible parts might be bad and where reasonably priced parts, new or used, be found.
Thanks,
Glen

Sounds as if the bearings in the final drive and outboard bearing are in need of repairs..There shouldn't be any lateral movement...

After further investigation it looks like the wide model has a Gear, housing and spindle that connect the spindle to the final drive housing. I think one, two or all 3 of these might be causing the spindle to tilt up where it comes out of the houing. These parts are riduculosly priced. The Gear part # T33097 is $1164.00 Housing part # T 33373...$1547.60 Spindle part # T 76993...$1908.60

If anyone knows where to look for these parts after market or used I'd appreciate being pointed in the right direction.
Thanks,
Glen

I know where there are several 350B wide-tracks being parted out. In fact, I was at the junkyard today getting a track-frame for my AC HD4, and while there I photographed a 350B that was laying there with no tracks on it - but all the wide-track parts are there. If you give me your email address, I can send you the photos. The junkyard is in central New York.

Thanks Roy,
That's what I thought. If you jack the machiene up the axle levels out. I have the machiene at a JD dealer but they deal mostly in farm tractors and are not familiar with this machiene. I have a repair and parts book and will take a look where the bearings are. Glen

Well folks after investigating these parts and also having 14" tracks already I'm going to abandon fixing this and now check on converting this back to a normal, non wide track dozer.
Thanks,
Glen
