The problem i am having is the froward drive on the left. The unit will move in reverse on both sides with no problem but the left forward you need to move the lever back and forth and then it will kick in.It seems to be worse at idle but the reverse works at idle on both sides.I have changed the fuild and filter in the crankcase. The unit did not seem to have this big of a problem before i changed the crankcase oil.I just got the unit it seemed fine when i tested it before buying. Is it maybe a air problem in the system or linkage adjustment

Not sure as to what your calling a crankcase, when I hear crankcase I think engine. If it is in fact the engine then that should have had no affect on the drive, but if its hydraulic oil and filter then that would possibly affect the drive.
These machines had no good way to bleed air from the hydraulic system, they will eventually do it themselves but sometimes it takes a while.
It could be a linkage problem as well but I dont think so since it does ok in rev. Those pump arms are on a keyway so if it goes in rev. it should go in fwd. also.

I recently had this same problem with my 743B. After much testing, I finally found the problem. It was in the drive motor on the left side. When I opened it up, all the o-rings and other seals inside were hard, brittle, and in pieces. Bobcat sells a rebuild kit for about $65. After installing the kit, not only did it fix my problem but the left side is now smoother than it has ever been.
