Just picked up a allis HD3 tracloader, looked all over for the serial plate could'nt find it.any idea where to look? Also motor loose,starter good shape, 12v did'nt seem to have enough power to crant, could it be 24v? THANKS, Ed

Ed,
The serial # is on the left side (as you sit in the seat), front edge of the torque tube, right where the engine bolts to the torque tube (like the bellhousing). It is stamped, so you may have to scrape some paint to see it.
Motor being loose isn't good. My manual shows setting the engine with a dial indicator when installing it, and it must be tight. It will break out the backing plate, which holds the rear main seal. If it twists too much, or breaks, the rear main seal will leak.
As far as the starter, they don't turn the diesel really fast anyway, but it may need some attention. If it is hard to start, it may be fuel related. Enjoy! Those are a good little highlift. I was just doing some clearing yesterday with mine. Had to do some repairs first (always something), but it does a good job.
