D2 CAT LOW FUEL PRESURE !

I have 1949 d2 no 5U1577 (8U9370)suffering from low fuel presure, I have loads fuel at pump, drained system twice, tractor will run but no power. any ideas ?

You need to change the fuel filter Ian. There should be a drain under the housing to let out any dirt and sludge. Shut off supply, take off cover and drain housing. Wash housing out clean and put in new filter and cover gasket. There should be a bleed screw on top to let out air. Turn on fuel at tank, crank with starting engine untill clear fuel(no air) comes out of bleed screw. If it will not start you will need to crank more with fuel lever ON and crack the line nuts untill fuel comes out with no air bubbles.

Thanks Bob, I have taken cover of and was met by what i can only describe as 3 inlet valves, is filter under plate holding valves ? i just a bit afraid of bits unknown springing out in all directions. Thanks for your help, Ian.

Found filters, never seen the like before, busy with D2, (rolling & chain harowing very steep ground) so washed filters out with petrol & compresed air, replaced, bled throught,loads of presure & power, shop around for some new ones tuesday. THANKS FOR YOUR HELP BOB MUCH APPRRECIATED, IAN.

Clean fuel filters work wonders Ian. Get some new ones ASAP, any dirt getting by the old ones will ruin many $$ worth of fuel system parts.
