I have the same series Cessna pump on my farm tractor as on my Case Backhoe. The one on the tractor is caput.
Been looking around the net for info, but can't find much. It appears Cessna was absorbed at some point by Eaton Corp & are now built by them as Eaton pumps.
They show 2 series, 25000 & 26000 available.
The ones I have are Cessna 24500 series, (24505-backhoe) (24509- tractor).
Does anyone have any specs for the older Cessna series so I could compare that to what Eaton now offers.
Just trying to get educated before I start phoning around for prices.

Thanks, Doug

Thanks for the replys, I sure found a difference in pricing depending on where a person looks,
From a couple of web sites for Case based parts
$245.00 to $280.00 USD
From web sites for Ford tractor parts:
$491.00 to $525.00 USD

Here in Canada prices range from $470.00 CDN @ Case dealer to $895.00 CDN @ Ford/New Holand dealer.

For reference the numbers stamped on the mounting flange can be broke down as:
first 3 #'s ie 245= product type
next # ie 0= backplate configeration
last # ie 5= displacement

letters following #'s, usually three or more:
first letter, L or R= rotation
other letters= sequential Identification

In addition there is ussually a second set of number/letters stamped on the flange,
ie 4G 10 ST
first #= last number in year built
next letter= engineering code change
next #= week of year built 0 thru 52
last set of letters= testers initials

Now I'm curious about the history of Cessna, I've seen these pumps on a lot of different equipment, even my little dozer came equipped with a Cessna pump in 1959, so they were a around for quite a while. Was/is Cessna a company on its own, or is a brand of pump built by a parent company??. Just curious

Cessna pumps are for sale at many places. They use a standard SAE mounting, so other brands also interchange. Deere, Case, Ford, and many others used the same pumps. The last new Cessna I bought was from :

There's an outfit called QCC that carries many of the old Danfoss pumps. To me Danfoss and Cessna were always hard to tell apart so you might find one through them that'll interchange. Their number is 708-887-5400. Good luck.

If you do not get specs there is also a formula that will calculate what size pump you. Also depending on how you are ported you may be able to substitue the Cessna with other brand and get by also. It is done every day. By the way Eaton also now owns Vickers hydraulics as well. Questions?
