Looked at it this weekend. One thing bothered me was that when you push down the clutch pedal to shift gears the shaft was still turning and the gears wanted to clash to get them in. Is this an actual clutch or a disconnect pedal ? And is there any adjustments that may fix this or is it needing a clucth ?

350B was available with either a single dry engine clutch drive, or a hydraulic reverser - so it depends on what it has. If it's the latter - with reverser - the clutch pedal is simply a hydraulic disconnect.

It does have the hyd. reverser. So does this mean the reverser plates are stuck or is some adjustment possible ? Once you grind it into gear it acts normal and the reverser seems to shift alright.

With the reverser, when you push the clutch pedal in, the clutch hydraulic pressure drops from 120 PSI to zero. Also, the lube/release pressure needs to remain at above 20 PSI. This lube pressure helps in keeping the clutch plates from dragging. You can easily check the pressures with a grease-gun hose and gauge attached. There are two 1/8" pipe plugs down under your left foor (while sitting on the crawler). Most likely, the problem is warped and dragging clutch plates and is there nothing you can do about it without a complete tear-down. So, it's best left alone. As long at the pressures are correct, you might try changing the oil - it might help and can't hurt.

"best left alone" sounds like a good plan to me as I haven't bought it yet. And think I may be best to pass on this one unless the price drops alot.

Mike,
My 350B has the same clashing when shifting gears and I have used it for 100 or so hours without a problem. You idle down, push in clutch, shift into low and then into any gear you choose. When working, slow down to idle, push in clutch and change gears, as long as you dont let the clutch out with With the reverser I really dont change speeds that often, usually just to get from the barn or trailer to the worksite. Where are you located? I could be talked into selling my 350B. 70 miles SE of Tulsa 918-489-2849 Engine One Eight

Eight One Eight-

Is your 350B a dozer or loader? If it is a loader, I may be interested in it. I'm located in west central MO, about an hour south of Kansas City.

I think the freight would be really high to Ohio.
