Here's what my 40 year old manual says (for a TD9 Drott loader):

110degF to +20degF: Engine Oil, Grade-10
+20degF to -40degF: Engine Oil, SAE-5W

Engine Oil Note: "Use a good grade of motor oil that contains an anti-foaming agent, or a hydraulic oil, with a minimum viscosity index of 90."

Exactly how the engine oil ratings of that time translate to today's standards is still a bit of mystery to me. I run 30W motor oil in mine, and so did the guy before me. Never had a problem with it, although some have said that detergent oils will cause harmful deposits (or something like that). However, my hydraulic system has always worked just fine with the 30W and I've even put some 10W-30 in it as well. A guy posted a link here some time ago from a hydraulic website where a (supposed) expert said multiweight oil is ok and even desirable in many cases. In my view either 30W or 10W-30 motor oil is ok, but IH hyd oil should be fine too (I wouldn't mix them though).
