Replacing Undercarriage - can I or should I do it

Hello Fellas,
I have a Komatsu D21P-6, it has the pyramid pads.
The undercarriage looks like it is coming down to the end of its useful life. I am not a professional, so I am guessing at this by looking at a couple of things. The bottom rollers look like they will be running onto the pin/bushing shoulders on the chain soon. When I tighten up the tracks, the idle wheels run out to the edge of their rails. When I looked from underneath at what I think are the pins and bushing, they looked a little egged out. One even looked like it had a crack in it, it looked like the the pin was hollow and a crack seemed to form wear and tear. The machine has about 3500 hrs, I don't know how accurate it is.

My questions is how difficult and how expensive would it be to replace the undercarriage ? Is that something I can do my self ? I am a little handy. I put new steering clutches and brakes in it last year, I did not screw it up too bad, everything seems to be working fine so far.

Is replacing the undercarriage my self a good option, any special tools needed ? I was also thinking about going with your standard pads and not the pyramids.

Can I just turn the pins and bushings, and get by another few hundred hours, is it worth doing, can I do it my self?

I don't know a whole lot about the undercarriage and replacing it. So any thought comments and suggestion I woul appreciate.

Thanks

I don't think turning your tracks is a good idea.
