First I"d like to say that I am impressed with the knowledge base on this site and hope to contribute in the future.

The reason I"m posting is I found an interesting Oliver HG-R crawler on EBay and thought it would be interesting to share it with you all- I noticed there are a couple Oliver enthusiasts on here. It may not be all they are talking it up to be, but it sure looks sharp!

I have personally seen an HGR like that, or if you believe his statement, then I have seen that one because it all fixed up. It is a factoy setup, don't know if it is as scarce as he is making it out to be, but it definitely was not a high production item, would love to have one. The one I saw had Goodyear belts, seems to me said the width and length in the side of the belt.
As far as the Deere/Cat lawsuit, I worked for a dealer at the time that whole fight was going on. The fight was over differential steer as I remember it, not rubber tracks.

Take this for what is may be worth but, as per the parts book for an OC-3 there is NO rubber track set up. There is rubber pads that go in the regular tracks but not a true rubber track. So I'm guessing at this but I don't think those rubber tracks are factory but some after market set up and if so theres nothing rare about it.

There's a photograph of one at the Oliver factory in Wendel's Oliver-HartParr book dated 1951. It does not look the same as the one on Ebay -but is similar. Seems these machines did not work well and Oliver recalled them - thus no repair parts sold.

the rubber track was only available on the earlier hg models so it would not be in a oc3 parts book. they were not made for long.there were problems with the tracks ,but it was a oliver/cletrac installed option.
