IHC 500E Blade Pin

I'm trying to finish up rebuilding a 500E with a 6-way blade, and have finally turned my attention to the blade. The main 1.5" diameter center pin is worn on the ends from being frozen tight into the frame bushings. Torching the pin out is the only option. The pin is no longer available from Komatsu, so I'll have to make one. My question is - what grade of steel should I use? Can someone tell me what the retainer looks like that holds the pin in place? I think the pin is supposed to have a groove around it with a thin plate that slips around the groove and bolts to the blade tilt frame. I can see the remains of three broken bolts where this retainer used to be, but it seems odd that the retainer was sandwiched between the pusher frame and the blade tilt frame, instead of on top of the blade tilt frame. It seems like the groove in the pin would add a stress point. I cannot seem to find any evidence of grease fittings either - how was this pin greased? Thanks for any help.
