I've located a good running operatable 440 dozer,it has a manual angle blade, its under carraige has been maintained ,has flatpad tracks no grousers, all pins and bushings seem to be in great shape ,tin work and fenders aint exactly perfect but its all there.unsure of the year .whats a good starting price? any cautions I need to beware of?

I assume you ran it and tested all it's functions? If not, don't assume that it works and especially STEERS like it should. We have a 440 and 2 350's all similar Deeres and none of them steer in both directions like they should. Besides that they have a pretty puny engine of a "robust" 32HP! Not something you will want to live with forever. If everything works I would start out a $3500. A really nice one the collectors would probably pay $5K for.
